Day 3,4,5: Start with me, Start accumulating and gain more experience

On August 21th was the day I practiced at Anuban Lampang. Our internship is from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. My first task was to attend the students’ early prayer service and sing the school’s traditional song. The students are very good and serious. Seeing the students’ innocent joy made me really miss my school memories. It makes me appreciate the moment in the present.

After the event, Ms. Bang on led us to the school departments to introduce. Everyone here is very friendly and happy to welcome us.After that, we went to the waiting room and received homework from our mentor Marco, our mentor. Mr. Marco gave us materials about my teaching content and the goals to be achieved.

After that, I was also allowed to take Marco’s English lesson with Ega. The lesson helps me to identify the characteristics of each subject very differently. In the lesson, the teacher demands students to ask us questions so we can answer them to help them practice English and to better understand new teachers like us. The teacher then prepares 10 vocabulary words for students before the end of the lesson. Attending this class helps me to approach and get closer to the students and let them understand me better.

Looking at the classroom layout here, I find it special and convenient. In the classroom, two teacher’s desks are located on the left of the classroom. A classroom here has two teachers, a foreign teacher teaching English and a Thai teacher to manage the same class. This arrangement helps students practice English every day and ensure their knowledge. Specifically, when learning in English, if students still have problems or do not understand, Thai teachers will explain again to students to understand.

On the remaining days of the workweek, August 22th and 23th still attend the first-hour event with students.

Later, I took part in observing my teacher Marco, my instructor. The lesson that I took was the math lesson for both 5/1 and 5/2 classes. The atmosphere of the class is very lively and fun under the guidance of teacher Marco, consisting of three main parts: presentation, production and practice. The lesson I learned in Marco’s lesson is the flexibility in handling situations to create a lively and fun atmosphere of the classroom, how to get students interested in the lesson and how to apply it. math software: mathisfun, swordsheet, education, …

What I am most excited about today is the song of the 5th grade students singing to me and the whole class, the song created a lively atmosphere and dispelled the fatigue after stressful lessons straight.

In the evening, my friends and I went to dinner at the buffet restaurant with Mrs. Autchariya and the students of LPRU and then they took me to visit the nearby market. People are very friendly, enthusiastic introduce us food and we say the names of the dishes in our language. The students also showed me simple Thai phrases and gave me the Thai name: Saa waa di khaa, Khop Khun Khaa, ect. My Thai name is Tubtim.
